Why IRIDRA?
IRIDRA is the first Italian firm specialized into the use of Nature-Based Solutions for a sustainable water management. All the proposed solutions put as first goal the environmental sustainability, also aiming to build a circular economy (i.e. the recovery and the valorization of natural resources present in wastes) future society.
In details
IRIDRA S.r.l., founded in 1998, is a private consulting engineering firm composed by an interdisciplinary group of professionals. All IRIDRA's partners have a multi-annual experience (about since 1992) in the water management and particularly in wastewaters treatment by natural systems (Constructed Wetlands, CWs).
IRIDRA realises any activity connected with analysis, planning and design for sustainable management of water resources: from the evaluation of environmental impact to the feasibility analysis for different treatment solutions, from the monitoring (chemical, physical, microbiological and biological) up to any investigations to realise basin plans or water treatment guidelines, from the planning of sewer systems to the realisation works supervision. Our group, composed by engineers, biologists, chemists, approach to constructed wetlands design for wastewater treatment in a correct multidisciplinary based way.
Particularly IRIDRA is specialised in the design of natural-based solutions for sustainable water management and wastewater treatment and has realised many projects and studies about CWs for public and private bodies finalised to optimise the water service by reducing the costs of management. But above all the IRIDRA group designed and managed over 400 systems of natural wastewater treatment in Italy and in several other countries in different geographical situations and in answer to different problems.
Since its foundation IRIDRA has chosen the way of excellence: because of this, it has become specialized in a very specific sector, the sector of "environmental innovation" in the management of water and wastewater resources.
To preserve its "leader" role, IRIDRA has an analytical laboratory and takes part to research projects in international partnerships as a relevant part of its activities, with a continuing trend since 2000 to nowadays, and the results are often presented to the most important scientific conventions and then published on international peer-reviewed journals.
In the treatment wetlands systems sector, IRIDRA is the only firm in Italy that puts under constant monitoring its realized systems, in collaboration with the Public Authorities, and so that their effective efficacy can be assured and proven.
The Technical Director of IRIDRA is a member of the Management Committee of the Specialist Group on Wetland Systems for Water Pollution Control of the International Water Association since 1999, the most important technical-scientific organization at an international level that matters with water; since 2012 to 2016 he is Chair of this Specialist Group.
In October 2010 Iridra organized the 12th IWA International Conference on Wetland Systems, held for the first time in Italy in the city of Venice.
IRIDRA is one of the founders of Global Wetland Technology, a consortium of 10 companies which have been operating for almost 20 years in the Environmental Engineering sector, with particular specialisation in wastewater treatment and water pollution control by Constructed Wetlands; Iridra can, therefore, offer to its customers the precious support of the GWT experts whenever particular expertise is needed as also offer services to the other GWT members.
Finally, IRIDRA is also a member of the Constructed Wetland Association (CWA), based in the UK, and member of the Sustainable Sanitation Alliance network, in order to enhance its specialization in the sustainable sanitation sector.
